This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, process, and protect your personal information when you use our mobile application (**VahanGPS** / package name `com.onestep.tracker`) and our website (**vahangps.com**).
Please read this policy carefully. By installing, registering, or using the VahanGPS application, you explicitly consent to the collection, storage, and processing of your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
2. Permissions & Sensitive Data Collection
To provide robust tracking services and instant safety notifications, the VahanGPS application requires access to specific sensitive features on your device:
We collect precise location data (via GPS coordinates, Wi-Fi points, or cell towers) using the **ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION** and **ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION** permissions.
Purpose: Allows the app to compute the distance between you and your vehicle, display your location relative to the tracker, and configure custom Geofence safe zones.
We request camera access using the **CAMERA** permission on your mobile device.
Purpose: Used exclusively to scan QR codes on physical GPS tracker hardware to add devices instantly to your console, and to capture/upload profile pictures.
Note on Background Location:
The VahanGPS Android app is designed to monitor external vehicle GPS hardware units. The app only accesses your smartphone's location when you are actively using the app (foreground). It **does not** collect, transmit, or monitor your smartphone's location in the background. Location tracking of vehicles is done via the vehicle's installed GPS hardware.
3. Device Notifications
We use the **POST_NOTIFICATIONS** permission to deliver real-time alerts directly to your mobile device screen.
Alerts include instant notices regarding ignition state changes (ON/OFF), speed threshold warnings, battery drops, and geofence departures. These messages are securely transmitted via the Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) platform.
4. How We Use Your Data
- To display vehicle telemetry, history playback logs, speed analytics, and geofence events.
- To create and secure your login credentials using phone numbers and passcode hashes.
- To broadcast instant security notifications when unauthorized access is suspected.
- To resolve customer service issues and optimize app performance.
5. Data Sharing & Third-Party SDKs
We strictly **do not sell, rent, or trade** user location or device log details with third-party advertising companies. We share minimal information only with essential services:
- Google Map APIs / Leaflet: To render background maps and geofence layers.
- Firebase Messaging: To handle the delivery of real-time warning alerts.
- Legal Obligations: If required by law enforcement or competent courts to comply with judicial proceedings.
6. Account & Data Deletion
You have full control over your telemetry history. You can request deletion of your account and all associated GPS records at any time:
- In-App Deletion: Go to the Profile screen inside the VahanGPS application, tap on **Delete Account**, and confirm. Your login credentials and vehicle associations will be immediately purged.
- Web Deletion Form: Submit an instant data erasure request on our Account Deletion Portal without having to download or log into the mobile application.
- Email Request: Send an email from your registered account to info.vahangps@gmail.com requesting deletion. We will verify and purge all associated databases within 48 hours.
Data purging deletes all stored coordinates, speed records, geofence zones, and registration logs permanently.
7. Security Measures
VahanGPS takes data safety seriously. We secure transmissions using HTTPS/TLS encryption. All passwords, OTP tokens, and user locations are stored inside encrypted server environments designed to block malicious ingress.
